Young Ben Russon died in a tragic swimming pool accident in the summer of 2009. Friends and neighbours rallied together to raise money for the family. Over 1000€ was collected, which went towards the building of a memorial garden and a 517€ donation to the children's school in Zurgena.
The garden was landscaped courtesy of the townhall, who also donated a wooden bench. The garden was formally opened by Zurena Mayor, Alcalde Candido Trabalon, on Wednesday 20th January 2010.
Bens parents and grand-parents would like to thank all those people who gave generously towards the memorial for him.
The garden is situated near Ben's grand-parents home in Jardines Del Almanzora estate in La Alfoquia on the right-hand side of Calle Crisantimo.
